Who Is Older, and By How Much
Enter both birth dates — or any two calendar dates you want to compare — and the calculator automatically determines which one is earlier, states which person is older, and shows the gap as a clear, readable sentence. There is no need to figure out the order yourself; the tool sorts the dates internally and reports the difference from the earlier date to the later one. If both dates match exactly, the result gracefully shows a zero-day gap instead of an error.
Total Months, Weeks, and Days
Beyond the primary years/months/days breakdown, the calculator also converts the same gap into a single figure for quick comparison: a calendar-accurate total months value, a total weeks value, and an exact total days count. These totals are handy when you want to compare age gaps at a glance — for example, saying an age difference is "about 17 months" rather than "1 year and 5 months."
Comparing at a Custom Date
By default, the calculator shows each person's current age as of today. Toggle Use a specific date instead of today to see the gap and each person's individual age as they stood — or will stand — on any other date, such as a wedding day, an anniversary, or a future milestone. The age gap itself never changes, but each person's individual age at that reference point does, and both are shown side by side.
Custom Labels for Real Names

How the Calculation Works
The calculator normalizes both dates and computes a calendar-aware breakdown: it subtracts year, month, and day components in sequence, borrowing days from the previous month and a year from the previous century-worth of months whenever a component goes negative. This correctly accounts for months of different lengths and for February 29th in leap years, so the years/months/days figure always matches how people intuitively count age. Total months and weeks are then derived from that same calendar-accurate gap using standard average-length conversions.
