About This Tool

Random Hashtag Generator – Ready-to-Post Hashtag Sets

Hashtag research eats up time that content creators, marketers, and small business owners would rather spend making the actual post. The Random Hashtag Generator solves that by pulling from a curated, locally bundled hashtag database organized by niche, then mixing in tags derived directly from your own topic — all in a single click, with nothing sent to an external server.

How It Works

Type a topic or keyword — like coffee lovers or vegan recipes — or pick a predefined category such as Fitness, Travel, or Business. The tool matches your input against category names and related keywords, derives extra long-tail tags from your exact words, then randomly samples the result into a balanced set using a Fisher–Yates shuffle so every generation feels fresh. If nothing matches closely, it automatically falls back to a general, high-engagement pool rather than returning an empty result.

Popular, Niche, and Long-Tail Tiers

Each hashtag in the database is tagged with a popularity tier. Popular hashtags (like #travel or #fitness) have huge reach but a lot of competition. Niche hashtags are more specific and easier to rank in. Long-tail hashtags are highly targeted phrases, often built straight from your typed topic. The generator blends all three so your set has both discoverability and relevance, and the Include Popular and Include Niche toggles let you lean the mix one way or the other.

Platform-Aware Counts

Hashtag etiquette differs by platform: Instagram tolerates up to 30 tags, TikTok favors a tighter 4–8, LinkedIn and Facebook do best with 3–5, and X (Twitter) performs best with just 1–3 concise tags. Choosing a platform from the dropdown updates the default Number of Hashtags and shows a short tip so you are not guessing at the right count for where you are posting.

Fine-Tuning Your Set

Enter comma-separated topics — for example yoga, mindfulness, wellness — to merge several themes into one de-duplicated caption block. Use Exclude Words to filter out any term you never want to see, and Min/Max Length to keep results within a specific character-count range. The Case Style selector formats every tag as lowercase, CamelCase (capitalizing each word for readability and screen-reader accessibility), or UPPERCASE.

Copy, Export, and Share

Every generated set can be copied to the clipboard as a single space-separated caption block, downloaded as a .txt caption or a .csvfile with each tag's tier, or shared as a link that pre-fills your topic, category, platform, and count for anyone who opens it. Your last-used settings are also remembered locally so returning to the tool picks up where you left off.

A note on trend accuracy
This tool draws from a curated, static dataset rather than live social media trend data. Treat the results as a strong research starting point, and verify current trending performance on your target platform before publishing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Random Hashtag Generator free?

Yes, Random Hashtag Generator is totally free :)

Can I use the Random Hashtag Generator offline?

Yes, you can install the webapp as PWA.

Is it safe to use Random Hashtag Generator?

Yes, any data related to Random Hashtag Generator only stored in your browser (if storage required). You can simply clear browser cache to clear all the stored data. We do not store any data on server.

How does the Random Hashtag Generator work?

Type a topic or keyword, or pick a category (Fitness, Travel, Business, and more), and click Generate. The tool matches your input against a curated, locally bundled hashtag database, mixes in tags derived from your own words, and randomly samples a balanced set of popular, niche, and long-tail hashtags — no external API is used.

What does the Popular / Niche / Long-tail breakdown mean?

Popular hashtags have broad reach but high competition, niche hashtags are more specific with less competition, and long-tail hashtags are highly targeted phrases (often derived from your exact topic). A balanced mix of all three tends to improve both reach and engagement.

How many hashtags should I use per platform?

It varies by platform: Instagram allows up to 30 but 8–15 relevant tags often perform best, TikTok favors 4–8, LinkedIn does best with 3–5, Facebook with 3–5, and X (Twitter) performs best with just 1–3 concise hashtags. Select a platform in the tool to see this guidance and an adjusted default count.

Can I generate hashtags for multiple topics at once?

Yes — enter multiple topics separated by commas (for example 'yoga, mindfulness, wellness') and the tool merges matching hashtags from each topic into a single de-duplicated set.

Can I exclude certain words or control hashtag length?

Yes — the Exclude Words field filters out any hashtag containing those terms, and the Min/Max Length fields restrict results to hashtags within a specific character-count range.

Are these hashtags guaranteed to be trending right now?

No — the tool draws from a curated, static, locally bundled dataset rather than live social media trend data, so treat results as a strong starting point for research and always verify current trend performance on the target platform before posting.
