Five Themes, One Tool
Questions are tagged by category — Conversation Starters, Deep & Philosophical, Funny, Personal Growth, and Team & Icebreaker — so you can match the tone of the room instead of hoping for the best. Set Category to "Any" to shuffle across the entire bank, or use the Exclude Categories option to keep the "Any" pool but rule out one or two themes you don't want to see (at least one category always has to stay active).
Filter by Depth and Keyword
Not every setting calls for the same intensity. The Depth filter narrows results to Light questions — quick, playful prompts — or Deep questions, which are more reflective and better suited to close friends, therapy-adjacent journaling, or long car rides than a first meeting. Add a keyword like "childhood" or "career" to zero in on a specific topic within your chosen category.
Batch Generation and No-Repeat Sessions
Need a full list of prompts for a meeting or party? Set Number of Questions to generate up to 20 at once, ready to copy or download as a TXT or CSV file. Running a recurring standup or a multi-round game instead? Turn on Avoid Repeats and the tool tracks every question you've already seen this session, guaranteeing a new one each time until the filtered pool runs out — at which point it tells you exactly how many unique questions remain instead of failing silently.
How the Randomization Works
The generator filters the question bank down to your selected category, depth, and keyword, then performs a Fisher–Yates shuffle powered by the Web Crypto API's cryptographically secure random number generator. That means every remaining question has an equal chance of being picked — no question is ever more likely to appear than another.
Save, Share, and Revisit
Click the star icon on any question to add it to your Favorites list, saved locally in your browser so it persists between visits. The History panel keeps a running log of everything generated this session, and the Share button copies a link that pre-selects your current category for anyone you send it to.
