Random Quote Generator – Instant Inspiration on Demand
A great quote can reframe a bad morning, anchor a presentation, or give a social media caption the punch it needs. The Random Quote Generator pulls from a curated, locally bundled library of quotes spanning motivational, success, love, wisdom, funny, life, friendship, and leadership themes — no external API calls, no loading spinners, just an instant result every time you click Generate.
How It Works
Behind the scenes, the tool filters its quote bank by whichever options you set — category, author, excluded categories, and a maximum character length — then draws randomly from what remains. By default the draw uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so results are unbiased and non-repeating within a session when Exclude Recently Shown is enabled. If you enter a custom Seed, the tool switches to a deterministic pseudo-random generator instead, so the exact same seed and filters always reproduce the exact same quote sequence — handy for sharing a planned set with a co-host.
Category and Author Filtering
Narrow results to a single theme like Motivational or Wisdom, or leave the category on Any to mix all eight themes together. The Exclude Categories checklist lets you rule out themes you never want to see (for example, hiding Funny quotes from a formal presentation deck) without narrowing to a single category. The Author Filteraccepts a partial, case-insensitive name — typing “lincoln” will match every quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
Quote of the Day Mode
Toggle Quote of the Dayto switch from fully random draws to a deterministic mode: the tool hashes today's calendar date and uses it to pick one fixed quote from your current filtered pool. Every visitor with the same category and author filters sees the same quote for the whole day, and the selection automatically rolls over at midnight in the visitor's local timezone — no server, cookie, or database required.
Batch Generation and Export
Set Number of Quotesanywhere from 1 to 20 to produce a numbered batch in a single click — useful for building a week's worth of social captions or a printed handout for a classroom activity. Every result can be copied to the clipboard as plain text (with or without author attribution, controlled by the Include Author Name toggle) or exported as a CSV file containing the quote text, author, category, and character count for each entry.
Session History
Every batch you generate is added to a rolling session history panel, letting you glance back at earlier draws and re-copy a favorite without regenerating it. Clicking Reset History clears the “already shown” tracking so quotes you have already seen can appear again.
