Random Sentence Generator – Coherent English Sentences on Demand
Staring at a blank page waiting for inspiration is frustrating, whether you need a writing prompt, sample copy for a design mockup, or a quick typing exercise. The Random Sentence Generator solves that instantly — click Generate and get one or several complete, readable English sentences assembled from curated word banks and grammar templates. Unlike a plain Lorem Ipsum tool, every sentence is built to actually read as English, not filler Latin.
Themes, Tone, and Length
Pick a Theme — General, Business, Nature, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Food, or Sports — to steer vocabulary toward a specific subject, or choose "Random Mix" to draw a different theme for every sentence in the batch. The Tone selector blends in extra vocabulary to match a mood: Funny leans absurd, Formal avoids casual phrasing, Poetic favors soft imagery, and Dramatic reaches for intensity. Sentence Length controls structural complexity — Short sentences (5–8 words) use a single clause, Medium (9–14 words) add a descriptive object phrase, and Long (15–25 words) join two clauses together with "while" for a fuller thought.
Batch Generation and Output Formats
Set Number of Sentences to generate up to 50 sentences at once, then choose how they're laid out: a plain list, a numbered list, or a single flowing paragraph. Every batch reports the total word count, character count, and sentence count so you know exactly how much text you're working with — handy when filling a specific space in a layout or writing exercise.
Custom Seed Words
Want the output to lean toward a specific idea? Enter up to 10 comma-separated Custom Seed Words and the generator weaves one into each sentence. Words ending in "-ing" are folded in as descriptors (e.g. "whispering"), while other words are added to the sentence's object phrase. If a short sentence has no natural slot for a word, it's appended in parentheses instead so nothing gets silently dropped.
Punctuation Variety and Capitalization
Turn on Include Punctuation Variety to mix in questions and exclamations alongside plain statements, instead of always ending in a period. The Capitalization Style control then reformats the whole batch as Sentence case, Title Case, UPPERCASE, or lowercase — useful for matching a specific design system or writing style guide.
How the Randomization Works
Each sentence fills a grammar template — subject, adjective, verb, adverb, and (for Medium/Long lengths) an object phrase — with words drawn from the selected theme's word bank using the Web Crypto API for unbiased, cryptographically sound randomness. Turn on Avoid Repeated Words and the tool tracks every subject, adjective, verb, and object noun already used in the batch, skipping repeats until the pool runs low — at which point it shows a warning and reuses words gracefully rather than failing. Enter a Session Seed and the randomness switches to a deterministic algorithm, so the same settings and seed always reproduce the exact same batch — useful for sharing a specific set of sentences with someone else.
Common Use Cases
Writers use the generator to break through blank-page paralysis, teachers use it to create quick grammar or typing exercises, and developers use it to fill UI mockups with realistic, variable-length text instead of repetitive placeholder copy. Language learners can use themed batches to see new vocabulary in context, and hobbyists can just generate a few odd sentences for fun. Copy the results to your clipboard or export them as a TXT or CSV file to use anywhere you need fresh, readable text in seconds.
